T. Scott Garrett M.D. (born July 22, 1956) is a Republican politician and current member of the Virginia House of Delegates. He represents the 23rd district, which includes the city of Lynchburg and part of Amherst County. He was first elected to his seat in 2009, defeating Democratic incumbent Shannon R. Valentine by a little over 200 votes. He was sworn in the following January in Richmond.[1]
He has been a practicing General Surgeon in the Lynchburg, Virginia area since 1989.[2] Also, he has served on Lynchburg City Council from 2006 until his delegate post.
